Thomas J. Cable

Lead Independent Director
Mr. Cable has served on our board of directors since January 1995 and as our lead independent director since 2010. Mr. Cable is the vice chairman of the board of the Washington Research Foundation, a University of Washington-affiliated technology transfer and early stage venture capital organization, which he co-founded in 1980. He also founded Cable & Howse Ventures, a venture capital firm, and Cable, Howse & Ragen, an investment banking firm now known as Ragen Mackenzie, and co-founded Montgomery Securities, an investment banking firm acquired by Bank of America. A former U.S. Navy submarine officer, Mr. Cable received his M.B.A. from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and his B.A. from Harvard University.
